ACTH(4-7) fragment chemistry

The heptapeptide comprises the 4-7 sequence of the N-terminal domain of adrenocorticotropic hormone with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro tripeptide, a construction studied for its resistance to enzymatic degradation relative to the parent fragment. Work on N-terminal acetylation examined how the modification changes copper(II) and zinc(II) coordination and the associated properties.

Gene expression after ischaemia

RNA-Seq studies in a transient middle cerebral artery occlusion model identified differentially expressed genes associated with ACTH(4-7)PGP in the ipsilateral frontal cortex, with follow-up work comparing brain regions of differing ischaemic damage. These reports characterise transcriptional response rather than clinical outcome.

A 2025 study in mice reported the peptide targeting the μ opioid receptor gene Oprm1 with effects on deubiquitination in a spinal cord injury model. Separately, a resting-state fMRI study in 52 healthy participants measured whole-brain functional connectivity before and after administration, alongside Selank and placebo.
