The Ipamorelin / CJC-1295 Blend is a pre-mixed research formulation of two synthetic peptides: Ipamorelin: A pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue reported to act through a GHRP-like receptor rather than the GHRH receptor, and CJC-1295 (No DAC): A GHRH analog studied for its interaction with the GHRH receptor and its role in pulsatile growth hormone signaling. Ipamorelin component

The original characterisation describes a pentapeptide identified within a series of compounds lacking the central Ala-Trp dipeptide of GHRP-1. In primary rat pituitary cells it released growth hormone with potency and efficacy reported as similar to GHRP-6, at an EC50 of 1.3 nmol/l against 2.2 nmol/l. Profiling with GHRP and GHRH antagonists indicated that release proceeds through a GHRP-like receptor and not through the GHRH receptor.

CJC-1295 component

The published human pharmacology of CJC-1295 concerns the form carrying a drug affinity complex, a maleimido group that binds covalently to plasma proteins such as serum albumin and gives conjugates a far longer half-life. Two randomised placebo-controlled trials of that form described dose-dependent increases in mean plasma growth hormone of two- to ten-fold sustained for six days or more. The certificate for this vial names CJC-1295 no DAC, the form without that complex, and anti-doping work treats the two as separate analytes.

Two receptors in one vial

The basis for pairing these two is that they are described as reaching the same axis by different doors: a GHRH analogue at the GHRH receptor, and a secretagogue at the GHRP-like receptor that the antagonist work distinguishes from it. A 2026 narrative review of injectable peptide therapy assessed CJC-1295 with ipamorelin as one of the entries in its scope, which records the combination as one that is marketed and used rather than one that has been trialled.

The record is on the two peptides separately. A 2026 review lists CJC-1295 with ipamorelin among the peptide therapies marketed direct to patients, which documents that the pairing is sold and used, not that the pairing has been tested. Two limits carry over from the components and neither is small. The human dose-ranging trials were run on the drug affinity complex form that binds albumin, while the certificate for this vial names CJC-1295 no DAC, so the multi-day durations reported in those trials do not describe what is in it. The ipamorelin characterisation is preclinical, in rat pituitary cells and two animal species, and dates to 1998. Administration of GHRH analogues is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency, and neither compound holds FDA approval.
